Take your skills to the next level_
Take your training further by becoming a Lifeguard Trainer / Assessor.  This comprehensive course suits experienced Pool Lifeguards who wish to be able to deliver the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification on-going Lifeguard Training. Candidates will learn the art and craft of successful presenting along with training techniques and strategies to deliver the knowledge and skills of their chosen specialism.  Our courses can include Automated External Defibrillation, Rescue Board & PXB elements. 

During the course candidates will be putting what they have learnt into practice.  As such candidates can expect homework during the course to prepare them for delivering group presentations and teaching practical First Aid and rescue skills.

On successful completion candidates will be granted probationary Trainer/Assessor status and allocated a mentor.  Probation lasts 2 years, during which time candidates will need to successfully run their own NPLQ course and assess other NPLQ candidates.  Full TA status may then be acheived.  For more details and further information on TA pathways, download our TA Candidate information pack below.

At least 18 years of age
A current National Pool Lifeguard
A current member [Individual adult Membership] of the Royal Lifesaving Society [UK] Click here to join!

Core Modules 1-3

21 Hours [3 days]

NPLQ Specialism

15.75 Hours [2 days]

PXB

4 Hours [1/2 day]

Up to 12 candidates per course

Assessment
Candidates are assessed on their conduct, technical skills and teaching/presenting skills by the Trainer throughout the course.
Candidates will need to deliver a number of group presentations and demonstrate their own satisfactory skills and knowledge in their chosen specialism. 

Certification
On successful completion of this course, candidates will be granted probationary Trainer/Assessor [TA] status and assisted to make contact with a Mentor.  
Probation lasts up to 2 years, during which time candidates will need to run their own NPLQ course and assess NPLQ candidates trained by someone else.  On satisfactory completion of both these element,
full TA status may then be issued by the candidates Mentor.

Our candidate pack includes a manual for Core Elements 1 - 3, and an additional manual for their chosen specialism.
Also provided are multi-media training resources for delivering training, a faceshield keyring and themed pen!
